Maple Lake Youth Fishing Team
The Irish Anglers are located in Maple Lake, Minnesota and are affiliated with the Maple Lake Youth Fishing Team Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization. A group of local parents had a desire to get kids outdoors and away from screen time on their computers and phones during summer months. They formed a youth fishing club and called it Irish Anglers. The Maple Lake Youth Fishing Team is open to kids in the 6th through 12th grade. Kids are divided into two teams as Jr. High and Sr. High Leagues. Prizes are awarded each night for the top finishers.
We understand there may be some area youth that don't have the equipment or parents who have the time to bring them fishing. This is where the Maple Lake Youth Fishing Team can help. Competitive, but fun, kids will learn fishing techniques, score points, and come to appreciate the benefits of catch and release. With so many area lakes in the Wright County area this is a great way to get kids out fishing and to experience the outdoors. Not every kid who enjoys fishing has a parent who owns a boat or their parents may be busy and unable to take them out to a lake. When kids get involved with the Maple Lake Youth Fishing Team/Irish Anglers they can break away from electronic screen time indoors and instead, spend time outdoors on an area lake fishing. Each team consists of one boat captain and two or three youth anglers. Interested youth or their parents can register for the upcoming fishing season by using the link below for more information and to view registration forms. All volunteers are subject to background checks.
Additionally, Maple Lake Youth Fishing Team Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit charitable organization. Contributions are deductible. EIN 88-1992467. We appreciate your donations and we truly value our sponsors so very much. As a non-profit organization we also appreciate all of our volunteers and the time and talent they devote to our youth fishing club. Without volunteers we can't have a program.
